Release Notes 26.3 IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast, and IDL Xlslink
General notes
About this release
This documentation describes the changes in IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast, and IDL Xlslink from insightsoftware compared to Release 26.2. The minimum requirement for installing this version is the installation of Release 26.1.
The previously released fixpacks are included.
With this release, maintenance for the 26.2 release ends.
Data backup
Before installation, please make a backup of your database(s) and check it to protect against data loss.
Migration
After installation, the release migration for IDL Konsis / IDL Forecast must always be performed first. After logging in, start the release migration via <Start migration now> in the message window. A restart is not necessary, all applications are available afterwards.
You can find the protocol of the migration under the short word RLSUPG (right-click on the corresponding migration).
If the migration is not started in this manner, e.g., because the logged-in user lacks authorization, the call of other applications is blocked. The only exceptions are the applications for maintaining the authorization data if the logged-in user does not have authorization to execute the migration due to the use of individual authorization groups. After manual execution of the migration, IDL Konsis / IDL Forecast must be restarted.
Documentation
In the subdirectory Doku\Release you will find the following documentations:
- Technical Installation Instructions
- Operational Installation Instructions
- Release Notes
For the currently valid "Hard and Software Requirements", please refer to the Customer Portal https://help.insightsoftware.com/s/article/IDL-Hard-and-Software-Requirements (prior login required).
Security
TLS 1.3 has been used as the communication protocol between the client and the application server for some time now. Perfect Forward Secrecy makes it even more difficult to decrypt the connection at a later date.
Technical information
To enable “Web Client (Streaming)” please start configure.exe on your Application Server and go to the Common Configuration Section. After services have been restarted you could access IDL Konsis with your Browser at your individual URL followed by https://myIDLKonsisAppServer/webswing-server/konsis/
The Desktop Client and the Launcher deliver the used Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in the installation directory, so that no separate installation is necessary.
Java 21 has been used since release 25.4.
The business runtime environment included in this release is limited until 01.03.2029 and must be renewed from this date at the latest.
Important: The license for the business runtime environment of release 24.1 expires on 1 March 2027. Please ensure that you update your installations with older releases (prior to release 24.1) to at least version 24.1 J before the end of year 2026.
Discontinuation of support for Oracle Databases
Important:
Support for Oracle as a database system ended on December 31, 2025. Previously published releases of IDL Konsis support Oracle Database until their respective end of support (longest IDL Konsis 25.1 until June 2026).
Oracle is no longer supported as a database system in IDL Konsis from version 26.1 onwards.
Please contact our support team to plan the migration of your database(s) to MS SQL Server.
User interface
The text color of key fields will be displayed correctly according to the specification (white text) to improve readability in the new color scheme.
External libraries
Numerous external libraries have been updated.
Hibernate has been migrated to the 7 version. Related adjustments (e.g. migration of deprecated calls, stricter query parameter validation, entity mapping fixes) have been made.
As part of the planned Spring 7 upgrade, Jetty was updated to a version higher than 12.1.8.
Spring and Spring Security have been migrated to the 7 version, Jackson to the 3 version.
IDL Konsis
Menu Authorization
The following menu items have been disabled with this release, as they have already been replaced by other applications in this release or previous releases. The menu items will be deleted in a subsequent release. Until then, please remove all individual uses (authorizations, menu structures) of these menu items:
- None
Master and structural Data
DEF Applications
Loading of help text status information in the DEF applications has been optimized.
The help text icon in the table area of the DEF applications is now updated immediately when a help text is created or deleted.
In the wizards of the DEF applications, the "Valid From" and "Valid To" fields are now automatically pre-filled based on the validity range of the parent object (e.g. chart of accounts, chart of positions), to avoid entries outside the permitted period.
In the messages displayed in the open tasks of the DEF applications, an icon now indicates the presence of any help texts, which can be viewed by double-clicking the help text icon.
Chart of position definition (POSDFN)
A choice dialog is now available for the position field in the selection area.
Report definition (REPDFN)
In the OLAP tree, it is now possible to move multiple lines via drag & drop at the same time with the exception of report type 'F'.
Companies (CODT)
Loading of the business activities of a company has been optimized for performance.
Exchange rates (FXRTE)
Dates entered in short form in the date fields of the selection area are now also automatically expanded to the full date, in line with the Valid From / Valid To fields.
Company financial statements
Processing log (CMPCNT)
The selection area of the CMPCNT application has been extended with the fields "Checkpoint" and "Creator", in line with the existing option in the similar group application.
Vouchers (VCH)
The processing indicator value "B" (documents to be processed), already used as the default in the CNSVCH application, is also applied as the default in the selection area of the VCH application.
Automatic rule-based postings
For rule-based cancellation postings (VCHPSTR), the cancellation now covers all fixed asset objects of an account instead of only the standard fixed asset object.
The period placeholder, which is already available for the voucher number in rule-based postings (VCHPSTR), is now also expanded in the voucher number of the assigned deferred taxes voucher.
Consolidation
For manual consolidation postings to fixed assets, matching group fixed asset objects can now be generated automatically per account, significantly simplifying manual entry.
For matrix consolidation, the check for FK carry forward vouchers, which had already been implemented on the COBOL side, has now also been applied to the migrated Java service.
The handling of exchange rate differences in the automatic clearing of IC balances (SKAEAUTO) has been revised for the case of treatment as a non-cash difference without accumulation.
In consolidation parameter GRPMNR AE, balance sheet accounts are now permitted as exchange rate difference accounts, since the current restriction to profit-and-loss accounts was no longer appropriate.
Reporting
Account balances report (REPACBAL)
An optional reference period can now be specified in the selection area; its values are displayed alongside the current period in the table area.
Individual cells or rows can now be copied via copy & paste, in addition to the existing full Excel export.
A new switch in the selection area allows switching between local, group and parallel values.
Accounts with account flag "Q" (clearing accounts relevant only for consolidation) are now excluded from the display.
The asterisk in the business unit field of the selection area is now permanently displayed instead of only on mouse-over.
You can now branch from KTOSAL (and I-KTOSAL) app into REPSAL app, passing the fields company, period, fact and business unit.
Group sub-group data exchange
Deleting archived data covering very long time periods and large volumes of data has been optimized.
ESG
Multiple conversion factors within the same metric/unit can now be used for ESG account balances, as the conversion factor can additionally be maintained per account in METKONV.
The import has been extended with the new "Account" attribute for conversion factors (UnitConversionFactor).
IDL Xlslink
General
A new attribute has been added to the export function for report IDs, allowing the completeness check to be deactivated when creating transaction development reports.
An issue that prevented IDL Xlslink from starting up cleanly after the file KonsisDB.xml was deleted from the configuration directory has been fixed.
Usability
The "End" button in the XLS-Link settings has been replaced with the clearer label "Save & Close".
The buttons in the XLS configuration dialog have been rearranged to more clearly indicate which dialog area they belong to (e.g. database connections).
