IDL - End of Life, Non-Renewal Notices, and Your Options

insightsoftware is retiring the IDL product portfolio. IDL is scheduled to reach end of life on December 31, 2029. We are focusing future investment on Lineos, insightsoftware's AI-driven platform that connects planning, close and consolidation, reconciliation, disclosure, and reporting across the full financial workflow.

On September 30, 2026, we emailed IDL customers an announcement, followed by a formal notice. We also sent the formal notice by certified or registered mail. The formal notice confirms that your current IDL agreement will not renew, states the date your current term ends, and describes the options available to you.

Use this article to identify which notice you received and what to do next. It applies to customers using products in the IDL portfolio, e.g. IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast, IDL Xlslink, and IDL Designer.

Important: This article is for information only. It is not a notice under your agreement, and it does not change your agreement or the notice you received. If anything in this article differs from your notice or your agreement, your notice and your agreement apply.

Procedure

Your options depend on which formal notice you received. Find your notice first, then follow the section that matches it.

  • Find the formal notice from insightsoftware dated September 30, 2026. Its subject line begins with "Important notices regarding IDL" and it arrived after the announcement email.
  • Check the end of the subject line:
    • "Notice of Non-Renewal, End of Life, and Offer" - follow section A.
    • "Notice of Non-Renewal & End of Life" - follow section B.
  • Find your term end date in the notice. This is the date your current IDL agreement ends.

A. Your Notice Includes a Lineos Offer

Your notice invites you to enter into a new three-year Lineos agreement. The new agreement provides access to comparable Lineos modules alongside continued access to IDL, with the understanding that IDL is scheduled to reach end of life on December 31, 2029. Your notice sets out the pricing and payment terms for this offer.

  • Decide whether you want to enter into a new Lineos agreement.
  • If you do, notify your account manager by October 30, 2026.
  • Failure to inform us of your selection by October 30, 2026, shall constitute a rejection of the offer. Your access to IDL and related services then ends on the term end date in your notice.

Note: The notice of non-renewal is effective whether or not you enter into a new Lineos agreement.

B. Your Notice Does Not Include a Lineos Offer

Your access to IDL ends on the term end date in your notice. If you want to keep using IDL after that date, your notice invites you to enter into a new three-year IDL agreement, with the understanding that IDL is scheduled to reach end of life on December 31, 2029. Your notice sets out the pricing terms for this offer.

  • Decide whether you want to continue using IDL under a new agreement.
  • Contact your account manager to discuss the new IDL agreement. Do this well before your term end date.
  • To evaluate Lineos as an alternative solution, ask your account manager to walk you through Lineos capabilities.

Additional Details

  • IDL is scheduled to reach end of life on December 31, 2029. Both offers described in this article are made on that understanding.
  • Your current IDL agreement ends at the end of its current term and does not renew. Entering into a new agreement does not reverse the notice of non-renewal.
  • We provide service and support according to the terms of your agreement.
  • If you must retain IDL data for statutory, audit, or archiving requirements, raise this with your account manager before your access to IDL ends.
  • If your organization did not receive the formal notice described in this article contact your account manager.
  • For questions about your rights under your agreement, consult your own legal advisor.
