Release Notes 26.1 IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast, and IDL Xlslink
General Notes
About This Release
This documentation describes the changes in IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast and IDL Xlslink compared to Release 25.4. The minimum requirement for installing this version is the installation of Release 25.1.
The previously released fixpacks are included.
With this release, maintenance for the 25.4 release ends.
Data Backup
Before installation, please make a backup of your database(s) and check it to protect against data loss.
Migration
After installation, the release migration for IDL Konsis / IDL Forecast must always be performed first. After logging in, start the release migration via <Start migration now> in the message window. A restart is not necessary, all applications are available afterwards.
You can find the protocol of the migration under the short word RLSUPG (right-click on the corresponding migration).
If the migration is not started in this manner, e.g., because the logged-in user lacks authorization, the call of other applications is blocked. The only exceptions are the applications for maintaining the authorization data if the logged-in user does not have authorization to execute the migration due to the use of individual authorization groups. After manual execution of the migration, IDL Konsis / IDL Forecast must be restarted.
Documentation
In the subdirectory Doku\Release you will find the following documentations:

For the currently valid "Hard and Software Requirements", please refer to the Customer Portal https://help.insightsoftware.com/s/article/IDL-Hard-and-Software-Requirements (prior login required).
Security
TLS 1.3 has been used as the communication protocol between the client and the application server for some time now. Perfect Forward Secrecy makes it even more difficult to decrypt the connection at a later date.
Technical Information
To enable “Web Client (Streaming)” please start configure.exe on your Application Server and go to the Common Configuration Section. After services have been restarted you could access IDL Konsis with your Browser at your individual URL followed by https://myIDLKonsisAppServer/webswing-server/konsis/
The Desktop Client and the Launcher deliver the used JRE (Java Runtime Environment) in the installation directory, so that no separate installation is necessary.
Java 21 has been used since release 25.4.
The business runtime environment included in this release is limited until 01.03.2029 and must be renewed from this date at the latest.
Important: The license for the business runtime environment of release 24.1 expires on 1 March 2027. Please ensure that you update your installations with older releases (prior to release 24.1) to at least version 24.1 J before the end of this year.
User Interface
In all Java-based applications, columns can now be reordered via drag and drop. The reordering is temporary and resets on certain actions (e.g., table refresh), consistent with the behavior of COBOL-based applications.
When copying data from IDL Konsis to Excel and vice versa, the HTML format is now additionally provided in the clipboard. This improves compatibility with modern Excel versions, which default to XLSX and HTML.
Mini Portal
The mini portal (web start page of the server) can now be customized via new configuration parameters in appserver.properties file. The homepage visibility and the WebAdmin link in the footer can be enabled or disabled.
A link to the new online documentation (Zendesk) has been added to the mini portal.
Client Logging
Client log files (ZIP archives) are now automatically deleted after 3 months or when the total size exceeds 30 MB, preventing the directory from growing indefinitely.
OBDF
When importing via OBDF, decimal numbers in scientific notation (e.g. -2.0E7) are now read correctly.
External libraries
Numerous external libraries have been updated.
Licensing of the ESG component
Since release 24.3, the functions of the ESG topic area can only be used with a valid license file that contains the ESG feature.
Discontinuation of support for Oracle databases
Important:
Support for Oracle as a database system ended on December 31, 2025. Previously published releases of IDL Konsis support Oracle Database until their respective end of support (longest IDL Konsis 25.1 until June 2026).
Oracle as a database system is no longer supported by IDL Konsis starting from this release 26.1.
Please contact our support team to plan the migration of your database(s) to MS SQL Server.
IDL Konsis
Menu Authorization
The following menu items have been disabled with this release, as they have already been replaced by other applications in this release or previous releases. The menu items will be deleted in a subsequent release. Until then, please remove all individual uses (authorizations, menu structures) of these menu items:
- None
Master and Structural Data
To improve performance, an outdated method that caused unnecessary double updates has been removed.
In all DEF applications, a model is now fundamentally opened in read-only mode if the logged-in user has no master data modification rights. Previously, a user without write authorization could still acquire an exclusive lock and block other users with write rights.
Chart of Account Definition (COADFN)
When entering an account number in the wizard, disruptive popup messages (notes about inherited attributes or validity period) are no longer displayed as dialog windows, but instead appear in the background area of the wizard or in the status bar. This significantly improves usability, especially when the account number of an existing account is a prefix of another account number.
When mass-editing the group account, the account selection list is no longer restricted to accounts with matching attributes. All accounts in the group chart of accounts are now displayed, consistent with the behavior of the old KTO application. When editing a single account, the restriction remains in place.
A company account now automatically inherits the balance sheet/P&L indicator of the newly assigned group account when switching between balance sheet and P&L. This eliminates the previously necessary manual intermediate step.
After editing an account in the wizard and completing with "Finish," the account list is no longer collapsed.
The "Clear filter" button is now active even when multiple column filters have been set and saved simultaneously.
When creating position-account assignments for company accounts, a progress bar is now displayed so that the completion of the process is visible.
Only the relevant consolidation functions (CD, PD, IE) are displayed in the selection area (instead of all available).
When creating a new company account, all account flags can now be selected directly in the wizard. Previously, only ‘W’ could be selected until a group account was assigned.
Chart of Position Definition (POSDFN)
When opening a chart of positions as a subsequent application (e.g., from another context), the same loading animation is now shown as when opening manually.
When modifying position attributes in the "Positions" tab, the period authorization is no longer erroneously checked. The check only occurs when position-account assignments are actually changed.
Error messages in the "Position-Account Assignments" tab have been optimized to avoid excessive messages when no period is specified in the selection area.
Check Rule Definition (CHKRDFN)
Two new check rule operators have been introduced that enable conditional checking based on the sign of the left side: "(L<0) then right side..." and "(L>0) then right side...".
Two additional check rule operators have been added: "L<0=>R=0" and "L>=0=>R=L", which allow a comparison of two notes values depending on the sign.
Transaction Development Definition (TRNDEVDFN)
Posting keys and corresponding transaction development columns are now synchronized. Selecting a posting key in the posting key table automatically highlights the corresponding row in the transaction development column table.
Error messages for missing language entries (e.g., no short text in French) are now displayed correctly, and the wizard behavior has been corrected accordingly.
Controlling Definition (CNTDFN)
The CNTDFN application now visually displays the assignment of controlling objects to schemas analogously to the POSDFN application. Unassigned objects are shown in black, assigned ones in grey. A toggle button in the title bar allows filtering.
A bug was fixed where a controlling object could be assigned to a schema multiple times. Additionally, the label "Hierarchies" was renamed to "Schemas".
Metrics and Unit Definition (MTRUNT)
In the wizard for metric definitions, the internal ID is no longer displayed in the header, as it is not meaningful to users.
Group Definition (GRPDFN)
When a company is set to "invalid" while still assigned to a group definition, a meaningful error message is now displayed explaining how to resolve the open task (removal via context menu).
Companies (CODT)
The foundation date can now be recorded in the company master data. It has been added to the company wizard, the import program, and the logging program (GESLOG).
The business activities page has been improved. The "Add" button has been enlarged, the column width for the OECD activity type has been increased, the activity description is now shown in the table, and an explanatory note about the free-text field for type CBC513 has been added.
Startup Data (STUPDT and STUPDTATH)
The user's validity information is now displayed, which enables filtering in the table. This makes it easier to manage startup data.
Import
Development Transactions Import
The import program for development transactions has been extended with the merger attributes fields.
The performance of development transactions import has been further improved.
Import Export Formats Import
When using the import export formats import with format type "PDS," the "PDS Business View" field is now correctly treated as mandatory.
Company Financial Statements
Account Balances (ACBAL)
In ACBAL, the columns for group unit and parallel unit are now clearly labeled so that they can be clearly distinguished when copying screen content. The adjustment was also applied to DEVTRN.
Carry Forward of Financial Statements (CFNP)
During an intra-year carry forward, the comparison fact is now correctly retained and no longer overwritten by the fact of the previous period carry forward.
Postings (PST and CNSPST)
When creating a new posting based on an existing posting as a template, it was previously necessary to change the posting record number for the "Insert" button to become active, even if the number of the template was to be retained. This behavior has been corrected: both the Insert and Change buttons are now active as soon as other fields are modified.
Voucher and Posting Rule Definition (VCHPSTR)
The message KON3832H, which is output after automatically creating vouchers and postings, has been corrected. Vouchers without postings are no longer incorrectly counted in the message.
Consolidation
First-time consolidation
During first-time consolidation (ERSTKON), processing now works correctly even when the acquisition date in the group membership (GRPMNR) is missing for the parent company.
A bug in automated first-time consolidation (ERSTKON): When acquiring additional shares without the KK_L_V voucher, an incorrect posting was generated in KK_V_01. This has been corrected.
IC Clearing
From the IC clearing overview, it is now possible to branch directly to IC account balances with the selection criterion "not cleared." This allows uncleared IC balances to be displayed specifically without the need for manual filtering.
Minority Interest Carry Forward
Minority interest carry forward vouchers (FK V) are no longer created when the previous period shows 100% ownership for a subsidiary and the postings per account net to 0.00.
Check Rules
The performance during check rule calculation has been improved.
Reporting
In the applications for creating reports, the default button for suppressed messages in the automate is now ‘Ignore’ instead of ‘Cancel’. This prevents the automate from being unintentionally interrupted.
Group sub-group data exchange
When the KTOHER table (K030) is used in the consolidation data, the referenced company accounts and charts of accounts are now also exported during data transfer.
The K079 table (status of account balance details) is now included in GRPSUBEX. In particular, when deleting data under archiving, the K079 data is now correctly cleaned up as well.
IDL Forecast
Various user interface improvements were made to IDL Forecast, including in the cell comment editor, the scenario wizard, the fact configuration dialog, and the rule wizards.
The comparison fact is now also correctly transferred to the currency exchange header record and processing control during an intra-year carry forward (period level).
IDL Xlslink
The Xlslink export now responds to technical errors (e.g., network interruption) with a meaningful error message instead of hanging in an endless loading animation.
