Release Notes 25.3 IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast, and IDL Xlslink
General Notes
About This Release
This documentation describes the changes in IDL Konsis, IDL Forecast, and IDL Xlslink compared to Release 25.2. The minimum requirement for installing this version is the installation of Release 25.1.
The previously released fixpacks are included.
With this release, maintenance for the 25.2 release ends.
Data Backup
Before installation, please make a backup of your database(s) and check it to protect against data loss.
Migration
After installation, the release migration for IDL Konsis / IDL Forecast must always be performed first. After logging in, start the release migration via <Start migration now> in the message window. A restart is not necessary, all applications are available afterwards.
You can find the protocol of the migration under the short word KONVERT (right-click on the corresponding migration).
If the migration is not started in this manner, e.g., because the logged-in user lacks authorization, the call of other applications is blocked. The only exceptions are the applications for maintaining the authorization data if the logged-in user does not have authorization to execute the migration due to the use of individual authorization groups. After manual execution of the migration, IDL Konsis / IDL Forecast must be restarted.
Documentation
In the subdirectory Doku\Release you will find the following documentations:
- Technical Installation Instructions
- Operational Installation Instructions
- Release Notes
For the currently valid "Hard and Software Requirements", please refer to the Customer Portal https://help.insightsoftware.com/s/article/IDL-Hard-and-Software-Requirements (prior login required).
Security
TLS 1.3 is used as the communication protocol between the client and the application server. Perfect Forward Secrecy makes it even much more difficult to decrypt the connection at a later date.
Technical Information
To enable "Web Client (Streaming)" please start configure.exe on your Application Server and go to the Common Configuration Section. After services have been restarted you could access IDL Konsis with your browser at your individual URL followed by https://myIDLKonsisAppServer/webswing-server/konsis/.
The Desktop Client and the Launcher deliver the used JRE (Java Runtime Environment) in the installation directory, so that no separate installation is necessary.
Java 17 has been used since release 22.1.
The business runtime environment included in this release is limited until March 1st, 2028 and must be renewed from this date at the latest.
Database Connection
The JDBC driver for the MS SQL Server has been updated to version 12.2. In addition to the driver's JAR files, the authentication DLL has also been updated accordingly.
The new option addJdbcParameter has been added to the appserver.properties file, which can also be set via the configuration program. This is required for the new version of the JDBC driver, as it works with encrypted connections by default. For database servers without trustworthy certificates, parameters such as trustServerCertificate=true or encrypt=false can be set.
Lineos
The link functionality in Lineos has been improved. When users click on links to documentation, an external browser is now opened instead of the Lineos component itself trying to load the page.
External libraries
Numerous external libraries have been updated.
Hibernate has been updated from version 5 to version 6.
Licensing of the ESG Component
Since release 24.3, the functions of the ESG topic area can only be used with a valid license file that contains the ESG feature.
Discontinuation of Support for Oracle Databases
Support for Oracle as a database system will end on December 31, 2025. Already published releases of IDL Konsis support Oracle Database until their respective end of support (longest IDL Konsis 25.1 until June 2026).
IDL Konsis
Menu Authorization
The following menu items have been disabled with this release, as they have already been replaced by other applications in this release or previous releases. The menu items will be deleted in a subsequent release. Until then, please remove all individual uses (authorizations, menu structures) of these menu items:
- None
DEF Applications
A problem with bulk changes has been fixed. Previously, when multiple rows were selected and the value of the bottom row was to be applied to all others, no change took place.
Chart of Account Definition (COADFN)
The inheritance behavior for the “Valid until” date has been extended for fixed asset objects. If the account of a fixed asset object is assigned a “Valid until” date, this date is now transferred to the fixed asset object. This corresponds to the behavior in the previous KTO application. This only applies in update mode and only for fixed asset accounts.
If a company account is assigned to a group account with the attribute "I A" (Intercompany check), the value "A" (Proportional check) is now automatically set for the attribute "IC breakdown check" for the company account if this attribute was previously empty.
A progress bar is now displayed when deleting large charts of accounts.
An obsolete context menu entry for the application KTOGRP, which no longer exists, has been removed from the chart of accounts definition.
Chart of Position Definition (POSDFN)
The progress bar when opening position plans has been improved. Instead of only working with several position plans open at the same time, it now shows the actual progress when loading the position-account assignments.
The bulk change function has been extended for all attributes.
Check Rule Definition (CHKRDFN)
he bulk change function has been extended for all attributes in the main table.
A problem with deleting check rules has been fixed. If a check rule could not be delete (e.g., because check rule results still existed), the lock would previously remain "stuck".
Report Definition (REPDFN)
Double-clicking on the "Transaction development column restriction" column now opens the corresponding tab in the wizard. Previously, the "Total" tab was always displayed.
The "Set default allocation" function has been renamed "Reset to default allocation" to make it easier to understand. This change makes it clear to the user that all existing assignments will be overwritten.
The "Reset to default allocation" function (previously "Set default allocation") in the OLAP tree has been moved from the context menu to the table header. In addition, a confirmation dialog is now displayed that warns against overwriting existing assignments. This prevents accidental resetting of all OLAP assignments.
The bulk change function has been activated for all attributes in the main table.
Report Column Definition (REPCLDFN)
The bulk change function has been enabled for all attributes in the main table.
Forms Development Transactions
The user-friendliness when entering development transactions has been improved. The small selection window that appears after double-clicking on a transaction development in the form entry monitor now only appears when it is actually useful - for transaction developments with multiple transaction development areas, at least one of which is not relevant for balance sheet purposes.
Postings (PST)
The user-friendliness of entering postings has been improved. The posting record number can now be specified and edited directly in the individual posting record instead of having to be defined in advance in the selection area.
Consolidation Voucher and Posting Rules (KONBUCHDEF)
The system now checks for duplicate voucher numbers and displays meaningful warnings. This prevents processing problems that could previously arise due to identical voucher numbers.
Consolidation Postings (CNSPST)
As with the postings, the option of editing the posting record number directly in the individual record has also been created for consolidation postings.
ESG
For report headers, both in the single record application and during import, the ESG value (local, group, parallel) is now prevented from being specified at the same time as position balances are output.
The new field for selecting the ESG value in the report header is now also exported.
IDL Xlslink
General
In addition to the new features described below, this release has again incorporated a number of bug fixes and performance improvements, especially for the formula editor in IDL Xlslink.
Formula Editor
The readability of fonts, input fields, and buttons is now also ensured on high-resolution displays when the value for scaling in Windows display settings is set to 125% or higher.
